Xerox Golden Lions ran in solid performance

Xerox Golden Lions won their second match in the Provincial Cup against Vodacom Blue Bulls.

THE Xerox Golden Lions and Vodacom Blue Bulls met in front of a sold out crowd of 16 000 at A-Sqaure Forklift Alberton Rugby club to showcase their skills.

The Provincial Cup matches will be played at the Golden Lions Rugby Unions’ stakeholder clubs such as Alberton, Diggers, Pirates, Joburg Police and Roodepoort this season.

The match between rivals Lions and Bulls was the second of these matches to be played at the club. Lions proved to be superior against the Bulls and put up a solid performance, winning 38-17. Half-time score was 24-10. The Lions ran in five tries, the first courtesy of Anthony Volmink within the first eight minutes to hand an early lead of 10-0 to the Lions. Joshua Stander scored the Bulls’ first try and converted it.

Lions’ flyhalf Shaun Reynolds contributed eleven points with the boot on the day.
