Vacant middleweight title fight on the cards

The EFC 49 will take place at Carnival City.

EFC 49 will be headlining the vacant middleweight title fight between KP Kruger from South Africa and Yannick Bahati from England.

The EFC 49 will take place at Carnival City this coming Friday, May 13 at the Big Top Arena, Carnival City.

Two-time heavyweight champion Andrew van Zyl makes his return to the hexagon for the first time since losing his title to Frenchman Cyril Asker. While many believe he should have been granted a shot at the vacant belt in April, van Zyl now gets his chance to cement his position as one of the best, when he faces the Polish giant Tomasz Kowalkowski. The Pole made a spectacular debut with a flying knee that led to a first-round total knockout stoppage over boxing champion Elvis Moyo from the South. In his second outing he faced Brendon Groenewald and fell victim to the former champion’s sublime jiu-jitsu.

All EFC events will now take place on Friday evenings instead of Saturdays. Tickets available soon at www.computicket.com. Like Carnival City on Facebook www.facebook.com/CarnivalCitySA and follow on Twitter @CarnivalCitySA.
