New club record at Visarend Angling Club

The Visarend Angling club share their May competition results.

VISAREND Angling Club’s May competition saw a new club record for the heaviest bag coming in at just over 94 kg by Jurrie Nel.

The complete list of May competition results are as follows.

Mini winner: Ettiene Smit – five fish 12,4kg; second: Evan Ogden; third: Joshua Wagner.

Junior winner: Kaye Smit – nine fish 21,1kg; second: Ruan jv Rensburg; third: Tian Janse van Rensburg.

Veterans winner: Bennie Bezuidenhout – 21 fish 53,99kg; second: Jan du Preez; third: Roelf de Bruyn.

Ladies winner: Nicky Viljoen – 23 fish 37,0kg; second: Natasha Smith; third: Madelein Cordier.

Seniors winner: Jurrie Nel – 42 fish 94,406kg; second: Gideon Coetzer (junior); third: Warren Cheek.

Heaviest fish: Gideon Coetzer (junior) – 8,5kg Grass Carp.

Heaviest bag: Jurrie Nel – 94,406kg (new club record).

Most fish and overall winner: Jurrie Nel.

The next competition will be held on Saturday and Sunday, June 11 and 12.
