Proud to play in their own new kit
Having their own kit motivated the team and they are now winning games
THE GOLDEN Boys Football Club of Extension Four have become a group of happy and smiling young boys – the team now play in their newly acquired soccer kit.
Glen Jonkers, founder of the team, explained that the team had been playing in kit borrowed from other teams since the beginning of April.
“I started the team without available funds and hoped for a sponsor, but this did not materialise, however, I kept on encouraging the boys to remain focused and hope for the best,” he said.
“Realising that sponsorship was not forthcoming, I arranged with my wife to use our own money to buy the kit and, with God’s blessing, she agreed. The boys are happy and more motivated, winning and drawing their games.
“We are, however, still appealing for sponsorship from our local business people and Alberton at large.”
