Slogans on posters explained

Election posters with 'must fall' slogans explained.

WE have three posters with the “must fall” slogan to highlight the concerns we have with local government.

“High Rates Must Fall” – we are of the opinion that our rates are too high and should be much lower if the metro is governed correctly.

“Fraud and Corruption Must Fall” – fraud and corruption is at an all-time high and has a huge effect on quality service delivery.

”Outstanding Debt Must Fall” – the metro must collect all outstanding debt and must do it timeously because our outstanding debt is too high which has a direct effect on our rates and taxes.

We also agree indigent people must be helped, but those who can pay must pay on a monthly basis, the officials in our finance department must implement credit control on a monthly basis before residents fall into too much debt which will result in no payment.

The Independant Ratepayers Association of South Africa (IRASA) is here to protect pensioners like the ‘irate ratepayer’ who wrote a letter to the RECORD. We are here to ensure we as ratepayers get what we are paying for, quality service delivery and clean wards where we are elected as ward councillors.
