Further to your issue of July 20, wherein you brought readers’ attention to the filth at the Alberton Post Office, I would also like to bring your attention to the problem at Alberton Mall.
The parking area is a total disgrace and an embarrassment, not only to the residents of Alberton, but to the mayor’s office, which, I hope, will do something about it.
I have spoken to numerous persons in regard to the litter, which has never, in many years, been cleaned up or removed, and in regard to certain areas which are permeated with the smell of urine.
Broken sidewalks and grates have never been repaired, resulting in gaping holes. I could go on about many more disaster areas, including the fact that no one will take responsibility for the condition of the parking area.

THE RECORD sent an e-mail to centre management at the mall, for comment, but had received no feedback at the time of going to print.
