SHUN Wu Tang Alberton recently congratulated three of its kung fu students who excelled at the national camp hosted in August.

Jason Alborough (13) became South Africa’s youngest Shun Wu Tang Black Sash, and Malcolm Leach and Heath Jordaan graded from first to second degree Black Sash.

A seven-hour grading event was held for Brown Sash students entering the ranks of Black Sash, and for those Black Sash students striving for their next Black Sash level. A Black Sash grading is not for the faint-hearted; it starts off with a really tough physical workout, testing of applications, testing knowledge of hand and weapon forms, and culminates with the grading students each having to spar with all the senior Black Sash students present at the camp.
