UPDATE: Panarotti’s to offer counselling to children

We can now confirm that the restaurant in question is the Panarotti's in the Mall at Newmarket.

RECORD recently reported on a large restaurant chain franchise in Alberton that came under fire after it was discovered that some of their arcade games in the children’s play area contained pornographic images.

We can now confirm that the restaurant in question is the Panarotti’s in the Mall at Newmarket.

Brett Milligan, owner of the franchise, has subsequently laid charges against the company who supplied the games.

Additionally, Milligan has offered counselling for the children affected, in the form of “play therapy”. Play therapy is used for children of a certain age.

This all happened after some of the children told their parents about images of naked women on some of the games they were playing, and after bringing it to management’s attention, action was taken.

“It stands to reason that a business such as ours‚ which cherishes families‚ especially children, is absolutely appalled that this could have occurred in one of our outlets,” said the Spur Corporation (under which Panarotti’s falls) in their official comment.
