Full weekend for Alberton Day

It is that time of the year again.

Expect a fun-filled experience for all at the Alberton Day Music Festival over the first weekend of November.

The starter party highlights include ‘The Search’ finalists performing live on stage and launching a digital CD of the top five finalists – followed by the Klipdrift Ornesto, local DJ Vin Grooven, LCNVL and then Euphonic to close the night off – to entertain the crowds, on Friday November 4. The evening’s other acts feature bands such as Kinky Robot, The Leon Shaw Syndicate, Pieter Albert Jordaan and DJ Lance.

Saturday’s theme is ‘Afrikaans and English’. Pride of place in the entertainment for the entire family is the Alberton Mardi Gras – back in full swing this year – accompanied by flea market stalls, exhibitors, food stalls, a fully fledged theme park with rides for young and old, pony rides for the children plus exciting games for all.

There’ll also be an SAPS dog show to educate all the children. Skydivers will be landing on the Saturday and Sunday. More entertainment includes a strong man competition plus great prizes to be won, including a mid-week holiday for two at the ATKV Buffelspoort resort.

The performing artists for Saturday include The Flooze from ‘7de Laan’, Juanita du Plessis, Ghapi, Hans Drommedaris, Rea le Roux, Gerald Panaino, Kurt Darren, Theuns Jordaan, Dedy Theory, Prime Circle. Leven and ‘The Flooze’ from ‘7de Laan’.

Sunday will bring the festival to an end with an ox braai and a laid-back afternoon, with entertainment by a leading South African band. Businesses, individuals, churches, schools and all interested parties are encouraged to become part of this exciting weekend event.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the local SPCA and various other charities.
