I would like to bring to your attention the sloppy service at the Department of Licensing of Motor Vehicles, Alrode branch.
As a frequent road user, I responsibly went to renew my driver’s licence. I went on a Tuesday morning and stood in the scorching sun for close on four hours in the hope that their board stating “Computer Offline” would be removed.
I had to go there again on another day. I stood again from 08:00 until 12:00, with no communication from the officials besides them saying that they are understaffed. However, there were people being let in on condition of a bribe.
Kindly assist in bringing this matter to the attention of the public, as this is unacceptable service delivery.

The RECORD was unable to reach the branch as the numbers given on its website are not in use and attempts to contact the department directly also failed.
