Emirates Lions are still on a winning streak, beating the Southern Kings 42-19 over the weekend.
The local franchise from Johannesburg made heavy weather in their Vodacom SuperRugby match against the Southern Kings, which was played on Saturday, March 25, in Port Elizabeth.
This win has earned them the top spot in the Africa Conference 1, with 19 points.
They are closely followed by the Jaguares (18) and Cell C Sharks on 17.
This coming weekend the Lions will face the Sharks at home. It will be a tough encounter as both teams are on top form and will not want to record a loss at this stage of the competition.
In the first half the Lions assembled 35 points to the 12 of the Kings, giving them a comfortable lead going into the break.
The second half saw the Kings scoring most of the points, but the Lions still managed six tries to the three of their hosts to earn them a bonus point.
Exciting young wing Madosh Tambwe scored two tries, his first at this level of the game.
The Vodacom Bulls, however, suffered their third defeat in four games when they went down by 38-14 to the Blues in Albany.
The Bulls succumbed to the second-half pressure of the Blues and suffered a loss in the first match of their New Zealand tour. Although the teams were locked seven-all at halftime, the Blues piled on the pressure in the second stanza and scored five tries to clinch the match.
