Karatekas make the grade

The achievement of Nelson Reddy is remarkable because after being diagnosed with cancer a few years ago, he never gave up and continued training

FOUR karatekas from the Shin-Gi Tai Karate Academy graded at a national grading ceremony which was held towards the end of 2016.

Nelson Reddy obtained a 4th dan black belt, Larissa and Kayla Beukes graded to junior black belt and Xavier Boshoff, to junior brown belt.

Reddy’s achievement is remarkable in that he was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. Despite this, he never gave up and continued training. He says he remains positive and that this mindset was part of his cure.
