Lions vs Welwitschias at Alberton Stadium.

LOCAL rugby fans will have the opportunity to experience high profile rugby when the Xerox Golden Lions face their Namibian counterparts, the Windhoek Draught Welwitschias for the first time in history, on their doorstep.

A-Square Forklift Alberton will be hosting two of the top teams in the 2017 SuperSport Rugby Challenge on May 6.

The club will also play their Pirates Grand Challenge league match against Harlequins from Pretoria.

Local rugby fans are urged to buy their tickets prior to match day. Last year saw a mammoth crowd of 18 000 spectators attending the match between the Lions and the Blue Bulls.

The Namibians will be keen to show off their skills under the watchful eye of their coach, Welshman Lyn Jones, against the upbeat Johannesburg outfit.
