Burgled Brackenhurst resident thanks rescue personnel

"I want to thank them all - the police, paramedics, security and the trauma team who helped me that day."

On Friday, May 5, I was attacked in my Brackenhurst home which was burgled.

It was a horrible and frightening experience, but as awful as that afternoon was, there was one thing that stood out in my mind that day – the amazing response of the local security and police.

I know that people always bring them down, but in this case, they were fantastic with regards to their quick response and number of policemen who came to help me. I even had the police captain from Brackendowns come to my aid. They called the paramedics who were equally as fast and attentive.

What’s more, they even sent “trauma ladies” to come and speak to me. Trauma is never a nice experience, but without these local heroes, we would never be able to deal with it.

I want to thank them all – the police, paramedics, security and the trauma team who helped me that day. They deserve a lot more credit for the jobs that they do.”
