“Power outages costing our business money”

"During the past month, the power has gone off nine times."

Our business in Combrinck Street, Alrode, and surrounding businesses are suffering because of unexpected power outages.

During the past month, the power has gone off nine times. We’ve tried our best to contact the EMM and the council to find out what’s going on, but either no one answers the phone, or we get referred to another number where there is no answer.

We have deadlines to which we must adhere, but with these constant power outages, that hasn’t been entirely possible without staff having to work overtime. This is costing us a lot of extra money and we don’t even know what is causing the power outages.

Enough is enough – we pay lots of money to the municipality but when are they going to meet their end of the deal? It can’t be that hard to answer a phone, can it?

Frustrated business owner

The EMM failed to deliver comment after more than one request to comment.
