Southern boxers off to nationals

Boxers off the compete at the nationals.

BOXERS from the Southern suburbs have shown their worth by being selected to represent Gauteng province at the upcoming South African Junior and Youth championship.

The event will take place in Dundee from October 3 to 7.

The seven strong contingent from Alberton and the South’s manager, Billy Hurford and two coaches, Wayne Olivier and Nicky Ness are also from this area.

The boxers who made the team are boys: Wesley Chrystal (57kg), John Masamba (64kg), Anthony Grobbelaar (60kg) and Keanu Koopman (45kg) and girls: Marinda Malajika (54kg), Maria Seitz (65kg) and Jenna Olivier (81kg).

The team wants to thank their sponsors, Midas Rosettenville, Cherry Apple Media and Golden Spot Trading.
