At the bridge just off Voortrekker Road, heading to Alberton North, the palisade fence to keep people from gaining direct access to the river has been removed.
This fencing was removed by cable diggers, presumably to lay cables for optic fibre, and it has not been replaced.
One of the residents offered to place the fencing on their property for safekeeping, but the workers said nothing and now the fencing is gone.
Why? Because we as taxpayers just have to keep on paying to replace everything!
It is nice to mess around with other people’s money, not to mention that now we have a safety problem.
The cable people also left the wooden rolls all over the show and now it is a dumping site under the bridge. People are also making fires under the bridge, which is a violation of our health.
It is great that the metro police can use the metro’s vehicles to go shopping and for their own personal use, but not do their jobs and inspect our areas of complaint.
