Power boxes are a massive safety risk

Our crime is already out of hand.

I would just like to ask about what is happening in Randhart, Alberton.

When you go down several of the roads coming off Jacqueline Avenue, you will see big power boxes standing right by the homes’ walls, as well as massive trenches being dug, presumably for cables, and even the roads are in a shocking state!

I spoke to one resident who said her house has already been broken into because the power boxes make it so easy for the criminals, they just climb onto it and jump over the wall.

TERRIBLE STATE: The road badly damaged.

Our crime is already out of hand, but when your municipality actually helps the criminals commit crime, you know there is a problem.

I called the Ekurhuleni municipality and they said that the power boxes are just temporary until they get their work done, but this doesn’t solve the problem.

WHAT A MESS: Power boxes strewn about in Randhart.

Worried resident

The RECORD contacted the City of Ekurhuleni for comment, but they did not respond to our requests.
