Jason Goliath and friends honour late friend

Jason Goliath has promised to make this an annual event on the Stepping Stone Hospice calendar.

FUNNYMAN Jason Goliath and a host of his comedic friends brought the house down at The Barnyard Theatre, Gold Reef City, on Thursday, November 23, as they presented Where’s Wally? The Brian Wallace Memorial Comedy Show in aid of Stepping Stone Hospice.

Over 200 people attended the event in honour of Jason’s best friend, Brian Wallace, who lost his battle to cancer at Stepping Stone Hospice in May this year.

“Stepping Stone Hospice gave him such a dignified end. Help us help them – come laugh,” said Jason about the event on his Facebook page.

“It was such a wonderful night and we are so grateful to Jason and his fiancée, Sian Bailey, for putting the evening together and enlisting the help of their talented friends, who all gave of their time for free on our behalf,” said Stepping Stone CEO, Tersia Burger. “We all enjoyed a good dose of laughter, which truly is the best medicine.”

“Brian would have absolutely loved it and been so overwhelmed by the number of people who came to honour him,” said Brian’s wife, Lee. “He had a great sense of humour and he would have been so proud of his friend for giving back to hospice. We were treated like family while Brian was at Stepping Stone Hospice. The staff there showed us that it’s not about dying – it’s about the life you have left.”

Jason Goliath has promised to make this an annual event on the Stepping Stone Hospice calendar. And if this first show is anything to go by, then comedy lovers will definitely not want to miss the next one.
