Navi Redd qualifies to represent South Africa in New York
She doesn’t care about winning; she just wants to show people the talent that God has blessed her with.
“I TWIRL, I dream, I move, I sway – even if it’s not perfect, it makes me complete,” said Genique Hammond, an Alberton girl with a passion to dance.
Genique started dancing at the age of four. She never misses an opportunity to compete in a competition. She doesn’t care about winning; she just wants to show people the talent that God has blessed her with.
In 2016, she had to undergo serious knee reconstruction surgery. Ever since she’s had to work extra hard to overcome lots of new obstacles to be where she is today.
She has danced at the Talent Africa Regionals competition and made it to Nationals, where she qualified to represent South Africa in New York this July. There, she’ll meet international scouts and stand a chance to land a contract with the dance industry’s best.
Unfortunately, to realise this dream, a lot of funds are required. You can help Genique by supporting her fund-raiser event on May 25 at Hoërskool Dinamika.
The ultimate voice band, Navi Redd, will be performing. The event will start at 6.30pm for 7pm and tickets will cost R100 each. It promises to be a great night of entertainment that you’ll not forget soon!
Please support Genique. To buy tickets, make any kind of donation or become a sponsor. Please contact Marinda on 082 554 8980 or Eugene on 084 587 3083. Any help, no matter how big or small, will be greatly appreciated.
