Fraud at petrol station

Business owners warn the community about fraud at petrol stations with workers claiming for money.

I would like to bring to the attention of business owners who make use of a petrol card. Should your driver submit a cash slip and claims to be reimbursed, be careful.

We as a business make use of the services of a petrol station in the Randhart/Meyersdal area. Last week our driver did just that and it came to light that an attendant keeps cash slips not taken by customers and gives them to other drivers to make fraudulent claims.

They will enter the amount by using your card, then cancel transaction. You’ll be informed that the transaction has been declined and your driver will tell you that he paid cash.

Note the reason for transaction being declined, as well as the time on your cash slip. We fell victim but realised it soon enough and our driver confessed.
