[GALLERY + VIDEOS]: Ligstad Pre-Primary School learners learn about safety
The children were delightfully entertained while learning lots of new and important information.
RECENTLY the little learners of Ligstad Pre-Primary School were visited by Mr ADT, also known as Darin the Magician. He gave them a few tips on safety rules and what to do in emergency situations.
Sixty children aged three to six years sat on the floor of the Ligstad hall and waited excitedly for Mr ADT (Darin McDowell) to introduce himself. He had a big trolley filled with surprises and even wore a superhero cape.
He started off with a few jokes to set a fun atmosphere. Then he taught the children all they needed to know about what to do in emergency situations and basic safety precautions to always be aware of.

He talked about panic buttons, keeping your valuables hidden, house and car break-ins, communicating with the police when you are in serious trouble and bullying.
To keep things fun and entertaining for the tots, he kept the jokes flowing, did a few magic tricks and even brought along a couple of puppet companions. The children were delightfully entertained while learning lots of new and important information.

Sergeant Frank Nkuna from Alberton SAPS also visited the event, where he presented to parents a way to keep track of their children at all times – a tracker-watch with two-way communication (For more information about this product that costs approximately R850, call 063 152 5678).

It was an insightful morning for learners and teachers alike. Ligstad’s Alida Jooste gave Mr ADT and SAPS a heartfelt thank-you for visiting their school.
