Alberton Karate Club fare well in competitions

Sansei Goju Ryu Karate and Kobudo Alberton represented SARMAF Gauteng at the SARMAF national championships.

STUDENTS from Sansei Goju Ryu Karate and Kobudo Alberton represented South African Ryu Kyu Martial Arts Federation (SARMAF) Gauteng at the 2018 SARMAF South African Championships in Port Elizabeth in June.

From the 12 students that took part, the Club contributed an impressive 35 medals towards SARMAF Gauteng’s medal count.

“South African Martial Arts Federation put together a world-class tournament at the Uitenhage Indoor Sports Centre over the two days (June 22 to 23),” said André van Jaarsveld, chief instructor at the Alberton club.

“The level of competition was very high over the various divisions.”
