Lukisha could be jumping all the way to Olympics

Alberton has high hopes for rising star twelve-year-old gymnast Lukisha Schalk, who plans jumping in gymnastics at the 2020 Olympics in Japan.

ALBERTON – Lukisha is a young talent unearthed from humble beginnings and developed into a world-class sportswoman at her young age.

Her competitive participation in women’s artistic gymnastics encompasses the following high profile achievements:

· Central Gauteng and Gauteng champion level 10.

· SA national champion on beam and floor and silver medallist overall.

· SA junior Olympic women artistic gymnast.

· First places at the African Championship and Serbia trials in October.

· International training and competing exposure already in the USA, Australia, Bulgaria, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

Lukisha’s plans to keep jumping all the way to 2020 Olympics include participation in the Serbia Memorial Championship from December 6 to 8 and a title contender for the 12th African Gymnastics Championships during March 2014.

Where Lukisha also wants to be in the following years is the Youth Commonwealth Games, Commonwealth Games, as well as World Cup and World Championship contestant on her way to Olympics.
