Albertonians discuss “feeling safe” here

“As a shop owner, I definitely don’t feel safe in Alberton.”

THE RECORD was curious as to whether community members feel safe in Alberton or not and decided to ask a few of them.

Here’s what they had to say.

EMMA MEINTJIES: “I must be honest – I’ve only known Alberton for the past four months since I started working here. So far, I think it’s a safe place.”
LENNY MOKOBOTO: “I feel safe in Alberton. I am quite lucky to say that during all my years of living here, I’ve never really been in a dangerous situation.”
JACKY CHOKWE: “Ever since working in Alberton from 2009, I’ve felt safe. It’s always nice and peaceful here, with lots of security. Alberton is the best place to be.”
DENISE NAIDOO: “As a shop owner, I definitely don’t feel safe in Alberton. Lately there have been so many robberies where us shop owners have been targeted and it’s very scary.”
