John Tree would like to thank Izak Berg for his assistance

As I am fully aware that my account is not in arrears, I was surprised to learn that not even the financial department knows of any disconnection notice.

I reside at 37 Hart Avenue in Randhart, on October 17 around 11am, our electricity went off for reasons unknown, assuming that it might be load shedding.

I never thought much of it. A few hours later I decided to inquire at the municipal offices in Swartkoppies Road, as numerous attempts to contact the call centre delivered no answer or explanation.

At the offices I was informed that my electricity supply was disconnected and I was advised to go to the financial department at the Alberton Civic Centre. As I am fully aware that my account is not in arrears, I was surprised to learn that not even the financial department knows of any disconnection notice.

After numerous unsuccessful attempts to the call centre and the offices in Swartkoppies Road, frustrated and seemingly agitated, I decided to contact councillor Izak Berg. He had the problem solved within a matter of hours, and electricity supply was restored to my home at around 7pm.

I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude towards councillor Berg for his swift and professional conduct in resolving my problem. This city certainly needs more individuals like him that extends a helping hand, way beyond office hours.
