GIVEN the state of some parts of Alberton and the cleanliness in parks and the Alberton Dam, the RECORD took to the streets to find out if residents were still proud to live in Alberton?
KAYLYNNE HARPER: “I am still proud to live in Alberton. The place is clean and satisfactory, even though one would say there are parts which are not as clean, but Alberton is one of the cleanest.”
GIVEN the state of some parts of Alberton and the cleanliness in parks and the Alberton Dam, the RECORD took to the streets to find out if residents were still proud to live in Alberton?
MORONGOE DIKGALE: “I am proud, Alberton is the cleanest area in comparison to other places like Germiston and Johannesburg. You would not come across instances like illegal dumping, it is well taken care of.”KAN DE KOKER: “I am still proud to live in this area, although I’m not happy about the Alberton Dam. You can’t even go out for a picnic there because of the polluted water. Alberton is no longer clean like before.”JACOB SEKHOTO: “I’m not proud, simply because of what I see happening in most parks. People litter everywhere, hoping their mess is cleaned by someone else. I suggest that parks should have guards making sure no one litters.”KATIE DIKGALE: “I am a resident of Meyersdal, which is the cleanest and safest place in Alberton, which is why I am proud to live in the area. I am even able to move around the area freely without fear of intimidation.”
