GALLERY: Penbritte Stables successfully hosts international event

Inter-Africa Cup events proudly hosted at Penbritte Equestrian Centre.

Nearly 1 000 horses took part in one of the biggest Inter-Africa Cup events in history. The event was hosted by Penbritte Equestrian Centre in Eikenhof, The competition lasted over eight days.

The Inter-Africa Cup commenced on May 12 and ran up until May 19 with seven countries participating in various categories.

The Inter Africa cup consisted of four disciplines namely vaulting, endurance, jumping and dressage. In this event, the local riders made the country proud.

The Inter-Africa cup hosted seven countries and the results are:

1. South Africa seven gold medals including dressage team gold, three silver and four bronze medals.

2. Zimbabwe two gold medals and one silver.

3. Zambia one bronze medal.

4. Swaziland 0.

5. Botswana one gold (including gold team medal for jumping), three silver and two bronze.

6. Mauritius 0.

7. Namibia two silver and two bronze medals.
