Alberton karatekas go big at Arnold Classic
Members from Sansei Goju Ryu Alberton took home 10 medals from the Arnold Classic.
SANSEI Goju Ryu Karate and Kobudo Alberton took part in the Arnold Classic Africa 2019 on May 17 to 19 and the seven students who entered took home 10 medals.
Medal winners are Jeandré van Jaarsveld (one bronze), Rynhardt Blignaut (one gold and one silver), Randhir Buldeo (three silvers), Karlitza Blignaut, Masha Buldeo and Quintun Swart (two golds and one bronze), sensei André van Jaarsveld (one bronze).
Martial Arts South Africa (MASA) put together a world-class tournament at the Arnold Classic over the three days.
“The level of competition was very high,” said van Jaarsveld. “The highlight of the weekend was Arnold’s visit to the MASA floor on Sunday to show his support.”
