Pit Bull powerlifters at national championships

Pit Bull Gym members take part in the national championships.

MEMBERS of the Pit Bull Gymnasium competed in the annual National Powerlifting Championship held at the Tswane China Shopping Mall in Pretoria.

The event was held on June 21 and 22 by the World Powerlifting Congress, South Africa, WPC South Africa, an official affiliate of the World Powerlifting Congress.

Pit Bull Gym was represented by coach Kobus Bester in the single-ply equipped powerlifting men’s Master1 under-82½kg division. He achieved first place with lifts of a 210kg squat, 160kg bench press and 240kg deadlift which made him the WPC-SA and RPC national champion for 2019.

Mark Esch competed in the 140kg men’s Master3 division taking top honours with a 145kg bench press. He is also RPC National 2019 national champion.
