SHARP as a razor they will have to be to keep the pundits on the edge of their seats.

Razor Sharp will be presented by AfricaRing, in conjunction with Golden Gloves promotions, on August 23. The event will be held at Emperors Palace and the doors will open at 7pm.

Featuring on the bill will be one of the southern suburbs’ up-and-coming prospect, Ricardo Malajika. He will be up against a sharp Layton Gloss, who carries more experience in the ring than the southerner. They will come eye to eye with each other to fight for the all-important Gauteng junior bantamweight title.

Malajika will be fighting out of the Box Office gymnasium under the watchful eye of Anton Gilmore.

“We need to get stuck in there and win this title,” said Gilmore. “Ricardo is already on a strict training schedule and we will see what we produce during the fight.”

Two title fights will be at the order of the evening’s proceedings. The first will be Roarke Knapp taking on Ernesto Olvera from Mexico. They will face-off for the World Boxing Council (WBC) youth super welterweight title.

Rowan Campbell will challenge for Patrick Makula’s International Boxing Organisation (IBO) Africa super middleweight belt.
