A WEEK of stunning rugby in the Spidertech Inter-Provincial Tournament came to a head on September 28, with the finals of the youth rugby taking place on the day.

With the youth teams from the Spidertech Golden Lions, Bulls, Valke and Sharks each having at least one team in the finals, the excitement was high.
In the u-13 division the winners were the Valke, beating the Sharks 20-7.
The Bulls were the u-14 champions, securing a 19-13 win against the Lions.
The Bulls also took the u-15 and u-16 divisions beating the Lions 46-13 and 24-18 respectively.
For the first time, the tournament featured a ladies game.
The u-18 ladies from the Golden Lions and Valke took to the field before the final of the u-18 men, and showed they are just as capable of good rugby as the men.
The match was a hard-fought battle, featuring hard tackles and rucks. The Lions proved too strong for the visitors securing a winning score of 24-7.
The much-anticipated final between the u-18 Golden Lions and Valke men took place late in the afternoon.
Both teams dominated the games and to that point came to a three all draw.
By half-time the Lions had secured a comfortable lead, being more than a try and conversion ahead of their opponents.
Things were, however, not set for the home team with lapses in defence allowing the Valke to crash over for try after try and when the final whistle blew, the Valke were champions winning the match 29-24.
