Customer dissatisfied with service

Confusion then reigned as the queue behind me grew and I was kept waiting.

 

IT is Saturday morning at 2nd Avenue SPAR shop at 9am and there are many people shopping. I get to the tellers and there are only two tellers operating tills. I am the second person in the queue. However, the customer ahead of me decides to ring up her purchases, not pay and then disappear back into the store.

Confusion then reigned as the queue behind me grew and I was kept waiting.

Needless to say, a store manager was watching this little circus playing out in front of him while he continued playing on his computer. After some time I managed to get through the tills.

My question is, does 2nd Avenue SPAR want to keep customers? If so, why doesn’t the manager get up and man a till when there is a problem like this and assist his loyal customers?

I continue to find the service at this widely advertised store most unacceptable.

The RECORD spoke to Marie Deyzel, a manager at the store. She apologised for the inconvenience caused to customers.

“On the day we were short staffed. It was hectic, but we would like to apologise for the experience our customer received. We will improve our services,” she said.
