To show appreciation to the elderly, Solidarity Helping Hand Alberton took time to spoil senior citizens at the Silwerkroon Old Age Home on November 22 in Raceview.
To show appreciation to the elderly, Solidarity Helping Hand took time to spoil senior citizens at the Silwerkroon Old Age Home on November 22 in Raceview.
The elders were excited as they were treated to mouth-watering meals and presented with gifts, while they also had a poem recited to them.
On the day, the Helping Hand team was accompanied by a group of youngsters from a children’s home, who gave the elderly jam-packed performances.
Solidarity Helping Hand is a community organisation that mainly focuses on uplifting others by means of training. They function within a Christian-value system and enable communities to find solutions to the needs in their own environment.They also aim to curb poverty.
Johan Olivier of Helping Hand Alberton said through the visit, they aimed to cherish the seniors at the Raceview home.
“We had a great time with the elderly. Our focus was to help make a difference. We want to broaden our footprint in the community,” he said.
