The nine FNB Varsity Cup university team captains are: Front: Marius Verwey (FNB UP-Tuks), Heino Bezuidenhout (FNB CUT), Jacques van Zyl (FNB UWC), Ben-Jason Dixon (FNB Maties) and Edwin Jansen (FNB UJ). Back: Liam Greenhalge (FNB UCT-Ikeys), Edmund Rheeder (FNB NWU), Justin Brandon (FNB Wits) and William Eybers (FNB Shimlas).

The nine FNB Varsity Cup university teams each unveiled their captains on January 24.

FNB Varsity Cup kicks off on February 3. Round one sees FNB UP-Tuks host FNB NWU at LC de Villiers in Pretoria. Kick-off is at 4.45pm. FNB Maties play host to FNB Shimlas at Danie Craven Stadium in Stellenbosch and that kick-off will be at 6.45pm.

The two non-televised fixtures, which will kick off at 7pm, sees FNB UJ vs FNB UCT-Ikeys at UJ Stadium and FNB UWC vs FNB Wits at UWC Stadium. FNB CUT will start the tournament with a bye.
