Deoni Groenewald: “There are still people busy on their cellphones will driving. They are so focused on what is going on on their cellphone that they forget to pay attention to the road.”
The RECORD took to the streets to ask residents what frustrates them most about the traffic in Alberton.
This what they had to say:
JP Venter: “I think what frustrates me the most is the fact that a motorist who is in a turning lane will drive straight over a red traffic light instead of turning.”
Thabang Mollo: “In the area, there are a lot of non-working traffic lights which causes major traffic delays where a lot of motorists take chances. Drivers are not patient.”
Jesse Smith: “I hate it when I leave home at 7am and only arrive at work at 8am. I do not live that far from work. I also feel there are too many motorists on the roads in Alberton and this causes other motorists to make use of the emergency lane.”
Deon Groenewald: “What frustrates me the most is the fact that when it rains we all know that we can expect a delay in traffic. But due to poor maintenance of the drainage system, there is a lot of flooding on the roads.”
Deoni Groenewald: “There are still people busy on their cellphones will driving. They are so focused on what is going on on their cellphone that they forget to pay attention to the road.”
