Rocky ride for the truck
The truck could have hit lots of cars but luckily the driver went for the koppie.
ALBERTON – The driver of the 3 ton truck escapes an accident after break failure, hitting the pavement then swayed the truck into the koppie in Voortrekker Road over the N12, on Thursday February 13.
“The break failed as I was approaching South Crest and I tried to stop the truck by hitting the side of the pavements. I missed the arrestor bed; I could have turned into it. However I’m glad no lives were injured or lost as there were almost 20 cars in front of me and the traffic light was red,” explained the driver from Ladysmith.
The truck was transporting fabric material to Alrode.
