Middendorp makes 90th appearance as Kaizer Chiefs coach
Ernst Middendorp makes his 90th appearance as head coach for Kaizer Chiefs.
Kaizer Chiefs head coach Ernst Middendorp will make his 90th appearance as coach equaling former head coach Stuart Baxter’s record at the club.
Middendorp had two stints at the local-based club at the Naturena Village, the first from the beginning of the 2005 and 2006 season up to March 5, 2007; during that time, Kaizer Chiefs won the SAA Supa 8 tournament.
Middendorp was unveiled the new Kaizer Chiefs coach in December 2018, for a second stint at the club.
The 61-year-old Middendorp has had a long association with South African football, having also been at the helm of Maritzburg United, Golden Arrows, Bloemfontein Celtic and Chippa United.
He will be in charge of this on March 7 as his team will take on Amazulu FC at FNB Stadium and then on March 18, he will most probably exceed Baxter’s record to 91 when the Amakhosi play Bidvest Wits.
