Pit Bull Gymnasium powerlifting competition a success

Various new lifters were welcomed on the platform and seasoned lifters qualified for the national championships, taking place in June 2020.

Pit Bull Gymnasium hosted a successful powerlifting competition at Crown Gardens Recreation Centre.

The contest was well run by experienced personnel with lifters from all over Gauteng, such as clubs from Midrand, Kempton Park, Lenasia, Sandton, Pretoria, Alberton and Vanderbijlpark participating in the competition.

Various new lifters were welcomed on the platform and seasoned lifters qualified for the national championships, taking place in June 2020.

Stalwart Jan Kruger broke records in the squat, bench press and deadlift in the 140kg’s division.

Pit Bull lifter Mark Esch broke the equipped bench press record in the master 3 140kg division.

Mark Hurn made a comeback after a break of 25 years breaking the squat, bench press, deadlift and the total records.

The club wants to thank everybody that entered the contest, the spectators and helpers, and most of all the Rhino Powerlifting Club South Africa (RPC) for their support.

Pit Bull Gymnasium will be hosting a push/pull competition in September 2020, at the Crown Gardens Recreation Centre.
