Man walking with sleeping child

After travelling on Hart Avenue every day, my mom and I noticed the guy walking with his baby requesting lifts.

I drove with my aunt to go and look if I can find them. We found them and he asked us if we could drop him off at The Lemon Tree.

He lives in a shack next to Natalspruit Hospital. The mother of his baby passed away from HIV/Aids when she gave birth.

Since then he is the only person able to look after his child. He walks every day from Natalspruit Hospital to a church in Meyersdal looking for food and soup.

He requested assistance in looking for a job to provide for his child. I gave him a stroller to assist him when he walks far distances with the child and I also gave him R100 for food.

  1. What is the age of this child? The reason I ask is because I have seen something similar in Edenvale, Sunnyridge and Bedfordview. A young man carrying a child wearing winter clothing, whether summer or winter. Not sure whether it could be a scam.
