It is regrettable that Manny de Freitas decided to join this mudslinging band wagon as part of the DA’s election campaign. I guess mudslinging is Mr De Freitas’s best attempt at promoting himself, or rather the ramblings of a desperate man fighting for political survival.
Unlike the DA, IRASA is an a-political platform for ratepayers to address service delivery issues. Izak Berg represents ratepayers and residents who voted for him. IRASA was founded as a ratepayers association dedicated to the principles of inclusivity of all people, from all backgrounds and all races without fear or favour.
I was a founder member of IRASA with Izak and several other ratepayers in Ekurhuleni who were passionate about service delivery. IRASA has members from all political parties and even the DA, because IRASA is not a political party but a civic organisation.
I am proudly associated with Izak Berg, because he is unwavering in his principles of fairness, justice and equality. The ANC has on many occasions been on the receiving end of criticism from Izak Berg when things are wrong, but equally Izak has never been shy to compliment the ANC’s successes.
Unlike Manny De Freitas, Izak Berg is not elevated above the people in a political hot air balloon in parliament, but Izak Berg walks among the people where he can make a real difference in people’s lives.
Maybe you should expose why Izak Berg is doing your DA ward councilors’ jobs for them. Opposition politicians surface only once every five years to campaign, but Izak Berg is working in this community every day. Izak Berg is the most committed and dedicated councillor in the suburban communities of Ekurhuleni. The people benefit from having an IRASA representative such as Izak Berg, thank God for this man and we are not worried about your cheap shots.
This is low even for the DA to launch such a public attack on Izak Berg. Sies man, Manny – skaam jou!
