Kaizer Chiefs will be facing Maritzburg over the weekend, Saturday September 27, after their remarkable first big win on Saturday over near neighbours Orlando Pirates winning the MTN8 trophy.

The Southern-based team will start their ABSA Premiership venture once again when they take on the unpredictable Maritzburg at FNB Stadium. They are currently leading the log with six straight wins and 18 points followed by Ajax with 14 points.

The kick-off will be at 20:15.

“We need to focus on Maritzburg, they have a very innovative coach and will be difficult to beat,” said Head coach Stewart Baxter. “The players have their feet on the ground, after winning the MTN8 trophy and they know that they need to defend very well.”

In the meantime, the PSL will continue with the league over the weekend.

Orlando Pirates will travel to Nelson Mandel Bay stadium to take on Chippa United and will have their hands full to record a win away.
