Telkom knock-out quarterfinals draw

2014 Telkom Knockout (TKO) quarterfinals took place at the Premier Soccer League offices.

THE draw for the 2014 Telkom Knockout (TKO) quarterfinals took place at the Premier Soccer League (PSL) offices on Monday October 6.

The four seeded sides (Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, Bidvest Wits and Orlando Pirates, were matched up with the four unseeded teams (SuperSport United, Platinum Stars, AmaZulu and Ajax Cape Town).

The highlights from the first round saw 20 goals scored in eight matches and eight teams emerged to the next round of play-offs. The first fixture was Bidvest Wits drawn to play SuperSport United at home, a match that will see Clever Boys mentor Gavin Hunt up against the club he guided to three league titles.

Next out the bowl were Mamelodi Sundowns and AmaZulu, the match scheduled to take place at the Brazilians’ home ground.

2011 TKO champions Orlando Pirates will have home comforts for their quarter-final encounter, which will see Roger De Sa returning to his former employers, this time with his Ajax Cape Town team.

Defending champions Platinum Stars will face 2010 TKO champions Kaizer Chiefs, the team they beat in the 2013 TKO semi-finals, with AmaKhosi being handed home ground advantage.

TKO2014 quarter-final fixtures as follows:

Bidvest Wits v SuperSport United

Mamelodi Sundowns v AmaZulu

Orlando Pirates v Ajax Cape Town

Kaizer Chiefs v Platinum Stars
