All roads lead to Top Guns

For the first time in South African boxing, a VVIP section will be made available to an exclusive few.

ALL roads lead to Emperors Palace on November 15, but one at least will be carpeted in red.

For the first time in South African boxing, a VVIP section will be made available to an exclusive few – 20 to be precise – for the Chesa Nyama Top Guns tournament.

For R750/ticket, fans will get to sit in plush ringside seats, be waited on hand and foot with a steady supply of refreshments and food and tour the change rooms with a celebrity host. This is nearly unprecedented in world boxing, with the boxers’ preparations typically witnessed only by camp members.

The VVIP experience is an entirely new concept, in keeping with promoter Rodney Berman and hosts Emperors Palace’s desire to innovate boxing.

“It is unashamedly exclusive,” explained Berman. “But in my experience, this is what some fans want, to have the same comfort and luxury as they do at home. We’ve seen it done in local rugby to great effect. I’ve no doubt boxing fans will love the opportunity.”
