Cricket beats Old Eds

The first Sunday of March, saw Alberton Premier League and President League sides overpowering Old Eds cricket in the time cricket competition. Scorecards:

Premier league at Alberton Oval:

Alberton made 195/10 and dismissed Old Eds all out for 138 to win by 57 runs on the first innings. Best batsman was again Juanre Potgieter with 74 runs and best bowler this time Tyron White, with three wickets for four runs (3/4) from six overs. Captain Ziyaad Desai took 3/52.

President League at Alberton High:

Alberton made 296/9 and in reply Old Eds stood on 292/9 at end of play, with the result that the match was drawn with Alberton one elusive wicket away from the double victory. Gerhard Pretorius on 84 runs emerged as best batsman, and Morne van Niekerk with two wickets in four overs topped the bowling figures.
