Good news for book lovers

I want to encourage parents and grandparents to take their little ones back to the library and use this wonderful resource available to us.

ALBERTON- My grandson, Garon Houbert and I visited the Alberton library yesterday after many years. I kept on discouraging him due to my bad memories of a dark, dingy, unhappy place.

Great was my surprise to find a bright and neat library. I have a study at home that I turned into a library, and the first thing Garon said was: “Look Nanna, it is just as tidy and clean as your library at home.”

He is an avid reader at the age of 11, and he is very excited to be able to visit the library on a regular basis again. This morning he wanted to know when we could go again.

I am impressed at the improvements and as a long-standing citizen of Alberton, I want to encourage parents and grandparents to take their little ones back to the library and use this wonderful resource available to us. Happy reading.
