Tuks go top of Varsity Hockey

UP Tuks went to the top of the Varsity Hockey table.

UP Tuks went to the top of the Varsity Hockey table on Monday May 4 with four wins out of four and three bonus points in the bag.

Tuks have been in impressive form, beating University of Johannesburg 3-4 on Friday May 1, thrashing UCT 0-8 on Saturday, eking out a 1-2 win over hosts Pukke on Sunday and topping things off with a convincing 1-4 win over NMMU on Monday.

Things are tight at the top of the table, though, as Tuks are followed closely by Kovsies, who have also won four out of their four matches, but have claimed on less bonus point.

Wits are fifth and NMMU sixth, with both having won just one out of their four matches. At the bottom of the table sit Pukke and UCT who have failed to claim even a single win.

Interestingly, there has been just one draw in the tournament thus far. That was between Wits and NMMU, when both sides let in two goals.
The next round of fixtures will be played on May 8, 9 and 10 at Wits and UJ for a semi-final spot.
