Highest award for Juanre
Juanre Potgieter, Alberton’s cricket player of the year, scooped the highest award from Gauteng Cricket Board as Gauteng Premier League Batsman of the Year.
ALBERTON – This is the first time ever that this coveted award was bestowed on an Alberton cricketer.
Juanre represented Marais Viljoen first side and South East Rand regional side from 2006 to 2008. He also played for the Gauteng Academy side in 2007 and 2008. As member of Christian Brothers College Old Boys (CBCOB), in Pretoria, from 2010 to 2013, he was honored as the most promising player for CBCOB during the 2011-2012 season and also Best Premier League Batsman for the next 2013 season. Juanre was also invited to Northerns practice.

Back at Alberton for the 2014-2015 seasons, Juanre received the best batsman and player of the season awards for Premier League. He also played for the Shakti Tigers during 2013 and 2014 in the Lenasia Premier League and also captained the future cup LPL side in the tournament against Wits. All in all, these must be regarded as well-deserved awards in recognition for Juanre’s excellent senior performances since the 2010 season.
