VICTORIA Lake Canoe Club hosted a long training race for more experienced paddlers to enjoy a 40km stretch along the Kliprivier and gain mileage and endurance training.

Morgan Ziervogel partnered with younger brother, Ryan to win the mixed doubles category, having finished the race in a time of 3:17. They are members of the Johannesburg Canoe Club based at Wemmer Pan.

Despite the name “Chili Bite”, the day was sunny, pleasantly warm and very enjoyable, with numerous beginners and novices gaining experience and working towards A-grade status by taking part in a shorter, easier 18km event.
