ALBERTON — A colleague just showed me the article Rock leaving criminals target motorists in Jhb, published in the RECORD of August 19.
On August 6 at 05:25 in the morning as I was on my way from Benoni to Auckland Park, where I work, I fell victim to this same activity.
Luckily only my car’s left front wheel was destroyed by the rock, which was placed in the right hand lane as you take the slipway from the N3 south to Germiston and the M2. As I was changing my wheel I was robbed at gunpoint of my wallet and cellphone by an individual about 1.7m tall, of slender built and wearing a beanie.
I strongly doubt whether I will recognise him if I should ever see him again and I suspect he doesn’t know how to drive a car as he did not return to claim the car after I was done changing the wheel.
I also suspect it is the same individual mentioned by Jacobus Myburgh, the RECORD journalist, in the article and I think he is or was working alone.
Hopefully this idiot is apprehended and locked up soon.
